Breastfeeding
Our institution has been recognized as a “Baby-Friendly Hospital” since May 2010. This means that it meets the standards and criteria set out in 1992 by WHO/UNICEF as part of an international strategy on nutrition.
The purpose of the Baby-Friendly initiative is to protect, encourage, and support breastfeeding in order to improve the health of infants. The entire staff is trained in this mindset and recognizes the importance and superiority of breast milk for the health and biopsychosocial development of the child. The CSSS hence provides support and facilities (including a lounge for nursing moms) that are conducive to breastfeeding.
