Nursing Services

Nursing services: CSSS de Témiscaming-et-de-Kipawa

Info-Santé : 811

  • 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
The Info-Santé health hotline is available around the clock. Qualified nurses are there to answer all your health concerns, providing information and advice. They will also assess your situation, and, depending on your needs, refer you to the most appropriate resources. Unnecessary trips to the emergency department can thus be avoided and you will be reassured on your medical condition.

Routine Health Services

  • The purpose of routine health services is to teach and promote healthy lifestyles that can be better managed and controlled by the individual.

You can see a nurse with or without an appointment by calling 819 627-3385, ext. 1202.

HIV-AIDS and STI Screening

  • The CSSS provides preventive care and monitoring of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STIs). You can request a screening for HIV-AIDS and its infections in complete confidentiality. To schedule a screening, please call 819 627-3385, ext. 1226.

Breast Cancer Screening Clinic

  • Each year, usually in February, the CSSS provides women between the ages of 50 and 69 with the opportunity to take advantage of the Quebec Breast Cancer Screening Program.

If you wish to receive general information on this program, please call 819 764-3264, ext. 49411, or our toll-free number, 1 866 321-3232.

If you wish to schedule an appointment for a screening during the program period, please call 819 627-3385, ext. 1202.

Vaccination

  • The vaccination clinic primarily immunizes children from the age of 2 months. A series of vaccines is administered to children and adolescents according to the protocols of public health. Basic vaccinations are also offered to adults.

A seasonal flu vaccination campaign is organized on an annual basis. The vaccine is free to anyone aged 60 and older, to individuals suffering from chronic illnesses, and to children aged 6 to 23 months.

Please call 819 627 3385, ext. 1202 if you require any information on vaccinations.

Support for Cancer Victims

  • This support program was created in 2006.  A core person (a nurse) provides individual monitoring to anyone newly diagnosed with cancer. The nurse provides support, information, and referrals to other professionals or institutions.

For information, please call: 819 627-3385, ext. 1230
