The CSSS de Témiscaming-et-de-Kipawa (Témiscaming and Kipawa Health and Social Services Centre) provides year-round care and services that are in harmony with its missions. Despite being the smallest CSSS in the Abititi-Témiscamingue region, its drive and vitality places it on an equal level with its larger and more imposing counterparts. The CSSS de Témiscaming-et-de-Kipawa is a multi-purpose institution offering three services under one roof, i.e. front-line services (CLSC), diagnostic (laboratory, radiology, and ultrasound) and short-term hospitalization services (CH), and residential and long-term care services (CHSLD).
Its Emergency Department has been recognized as a Stabilization Unit by the provincial Trauma Services Quality Management Committee. The Centre also houses a Family Medicine Group (FMG) and has been accredited with Accreditation Canada since 1997.
Over the years, the CSSS has developed and set up a full range of front-line services. They include programs and services related to prevention, health promotion, assessment, consultation, education, and monitoring, all provided by a team of professionals specialized in general medicine, nursing, psychosocial services, nutrition, physiotherapy, speech therapy, and much more. The range of services offered to the general public is a major factor in making the CSSS de Témiscaming-et-de-Kipawa a reassuring presence within the community.
